I will use graphic organizers to assist with active processing and will expect the participants to do the same for their authentic assessment activity. Participants will create a graphic organizer on four ways to pay for college. What kind of product will your participants create to demonstrate their learning using multimedia technology? Students will create a financial plan for college.
2. What kind of multimedia presentation must you create to effectively present key concepts and skills to your participants (video, PowerPoint, podcast, screencast, interactive tutorial, or other)? I will create a video incorporating some screencasts to present key concepts to participants. How will you include Mayer’s principles of dual coding and limited capacity in your presentation? With Mayer’s concept of limited capacity in mind, I will keep the content simple, and with the dual coding principle in mind, I will limit background noise and text and will include an audio track for narration.
3. What kind of graphic organizer would be best to give your participants to help facilitate learning in your workshop? The participants will complete a simple bubble graphic organizer help facilitate learning in my workshop.
4. What concepts in your presentation will require pre-training before you begin the workshop? I will introduce the blogger concept in a pretraing video. How will you use multimedia to engage your learners during the pre-training phase? The training will be introduced in a video.
